ACTIVE PASS BOX

Active pass box,
single- and two-stage

The working class of a cleanroom is set by the activity and by standards such as ISO 14644 and GMP. During production, moving materials between rooms is unavoidable, and the fundamental rule is to prevent cross-contamination. The active pass box manages that transfer safely with smart controls, an interlock, a fan and filtration.

Stainless steel 304 inside and out for the highest hygiene and durability.

Single-stage pass box

What the single-stage active pass box offers the operator:

  • Prevents cross-contamination when transferring materials or equipment between two different environments
  • Chamber supply air filtered by a centrifugal fan and H13 filter; a G4 filter can be added on the return path
  • Active interlock that prevents both doors opening at once, programmable through the HMI
  • Chamber pressure control with a bubble or cascade pressure regime relative to the surroundings
  • Stainless steel 304 interior; cleanable and disinfectable with standard agents
  • UV lamp with timer to sterilise the chamber interior
  • HMI system displaying key parameters such as pressure values
  • DPT system showing the HEPA filter pressure drop with a filter-replacement alarm
  • Access ports upstream of the HEPA filter for leak testing
  • Rounded corners to prevent particle and contamination build-up
  • Internal LED lighting, emergency cut-off and anti-UV glass

Two-stage pass box

On some material flows, inbound and outbound items share the same route, and production risk management requires the two to be separated; that is where the two-stage pass box is used. Its main features match the single-stage unit, with these differences:

  • Two separate chambers on two levels for transferring materials and equipment
  • Both levels operate fully independently
  • Prevents cross-contamination between the inbound and outbound routes
